Year 5 and 6 camp

I was so excited for camp. I had been wandering if I should visit an elder person blog who went on camp. I had found a piece of writing from Ana Vafusanga, Her first activate was cooking and baking, they had baked cookies for all the year 5 and 6 while the boys went catching eels. Her hardest activate was top town. It had been her first time playing it so it was hard.

Today we had an Anzac assembly of those who left to war. On 14 of February 1915, the 500 strong Maori contingent left New Zealand shore for the first world war. The Maori people were angry with the British empire and had asked for 500 strong men from the minster, but he refused and sad no. But soon after a while they had got what they wanted. People were crying when there love one's were leaving to war. Young and old men were leaving to fight for there country we will
remember them.

Term 2 had started, the perfects were handing out melted marshmallow on a cookie.  The topic was tinkering tools and toys. Teachers were dressed as minions superhero's Winne the pooh. Everybody was running and jump around in enthusiasm.

Team one’s Item had began, Mrs George had started talking about healthy food. After she finished her sentence a picture movie had showed on the screen of healthy food. Some of the teachers had started handing out healthy food just like they were handing out melted marshmallow on a cookie. Team one was the most craziest Item.

While we were waiting one of the perfects Isa was flying a drone helicopter taking pictures controlled with a phone. I thought it was quite weird since it took of with huge wheels on the side of the drone helicopter. I had been wondering how long can it stay in thee air 1 hour or a few minutes.

My favourite part at immersion assembly was the hovercraft that Mr Barks had made.
It had lifted a little bit and started hovering. It also was funny when Mr Somerville had sat and started hovering on it. I think that our new topic tinkering tools and toys is a cool and quite interesting. Blood moon

On April 4th, 2015 a blood moon had appeared in the sky, it had only lasted about 4 minutes and 30 seconds. I sadly didn't get to see the blood moon, because it was really late. A blood Moon is a lunar eclipse which is when the earth passes between the sun and the moon. I have posted a few pictures of the blood moon and there is a link to a video explaining the blood moon.

Easter holidays

Ah Easter what a wonderful holiday, also known as Resurrection Sunday, marks the high point of the Christian year. Easter is the Christian celebration of the resurrection of Jesus, but the seasonal chocolate eggs and the bunny who delivers them are nowhere to be found in scripture. Some people have been wondering is Easter a Christian holiday of the resurrection of Jesus, or a bunny that hides Easter eggs. Well I'm glade you asked Easter is a Christian holiday of the resurrection of Jesus. Falling newspaper towers

Has your teacher ever given you a challenge to make a paper tower?

Mr Goodwin gave us a challenge to build a very tall tower that can stand by it self.

Everyone thought it was going to be easy, but it was a disaster.

It all started when we sat down on the mat, we were wondering where did the table go. Mr Goodwin gave us a challenge to build the tallest paper tower in eight minutes. So that was why things were moved, for a newspaper tower challenge. Anyway Mr Goodwin started handing out the materials, a long piece of masking tape five pieces of newspaper and scissors.

After Mr Goodwin gave our materials we started to make our towers. We all took a piece of paper and started building. I finished the first tower in my team then it turned into a falling tower.  Mr Goodwin came and said to build a base at the bottom to hold up the tower so it doesn't fall. One minute later we finished the base and added the finishing touches.

After we put our tower in front of the mat our tower fell all because of a paper that weighed it down. Only two teams finished one tower was shaped like a pyramid thee other one was straight. We couldn't tell which team won so we stole a long ruler. The tall straight tower had won the competition. YEAHHH!!!                             

Mr Goodwin had given us a challenge to build the tallest paper tower in 8 minutes. Last time Mr Goodwin feed us chicken flavoured worms. I thought he drank to much coffee and had gone overboard. Unfortunatly Everbody was saying the challenge of building a newspaper in eight minutes was going to be easy but it was a disaster.

Little blue penguins

Omaru creek used to be a nice and fresh clean lake. Now Omaru creek is a nightmare dirty stinky ugly I can’t stand the smell of a lake filled with rubbish.
